Welcome to The RHS Rampage! My name is Caitlin Chatterton, and I’m one of three co editors of this newspaper with Anaya Tolton and Isabel Cintron. We are all seniors here at Rockville High School and have been members of the Creative Writing program all four years. We are starting up the newspaper as our capstone project as Humanities Scholars, but we hope that we will be able to start this project this year and that it will continue on after we graduate.
The new RHS Newspaper will be a forum for student writers here at our school that will hopefully foster the next generation of journalists. We are hoping to have new articles every week written by students from all grades, freshmen to seniors, with updates and news about everything that is going on at our school. From spotlights on our school’s sports teams to learning about the newest drama performances coming up, we want to showcase the best of our school and everything it has to offer. Not only will this newspaper be about our school, but we will also have editorial pieces where students will be able to write articles about topics that they care about outside of school and have the opportunity to share their opinions. Our newspaper hopes to be an inclusive place where everyone is welcome and all ideas are free to be expressed!
Through our partnership with The Patch, who has been invaluable to our start, we aim to create a place where students and the community can go to learn about the great things that are occurring at our school and the many talents of our students.
